WHAT IS A POST AND HOW DO I MAKE ONE?

A good example of a post would be what you are reading right now : ) To REPLY to an already posted post, click the REPLY button [image] and post your heart out. After you are done typing your message, click the POST button at the bottom to successfully make a post. You may wish to PREVIEW your post before posting.

QUOTES, AND HOW TO MAKE ONE

The quote button is particularly useful when one wishes to reply to a specific post. Press the quote button [image] on the post you would like to quote and just make a post as you normally would. What will show up on your post is this:

Quote:
All quoted words will be shown in this box here.

MODIFYING YOUR POST

If for some reason you wish to modify a post, you may do so with the MODIFY button [image]
Use this button to prevent double posting.

DELETING A POST

If for some reason you wish to delete an existing post of yours, the DELETE button [image] will do the trick. Please note that once you press DELETE, there is no way of recovering your post

STARTING A NEW THREAD

If you wish to start a new topic, simply clicking on the NEW THREAD button [image] will allow you to do so

POLLS

Polls are a way to get members to vote anonymously to determine which boy is hotter : ) or which movie you like better, etc. You can make a poll but pressing the NEW POLL button [image]

MARK AS READ

You'll notice when there are new posts [image] and no new posts [image] on the main page. If you wish for the new posts to turn into no new posts, you can either do that by actually reading them, or simply clicking the MARK AS READ button [image]

LEARNING TO USE YOUR PERSONAL MESSAGE SYSTEM (PMS)

You may send another member a personal message (PM) simply by clicking on their profile and clicking on the link at the bottom where it says "Send member a personal message"

When you have recieved a personal message, a window will pop up asking you if you wish to view it now. If you click OK, it will take you to the PM where you will have the option of either replying back, or doing nothing at all.

Your PMs are stored in your INBOX [image]

An unread PM will look like this [image] . After you've opened it, it will turn to READ [image] and you have the option of replying to it. If you choose to reply, the message will in turn end up looking like this: [image]

YOUR PROFILE

Your profile may be the best way to express yourself on forums. Your profile can be accessed at the menu bar on top. It is here that you can also give details of:
Your own website
MSN, ICQ, AIM, YIM number or nickname
You can also enter personal text (the text that appears to the left under your name)
and your signature text (which appears at the bottom of your name)
That is also the place where you may change your password and email. Not to mention details if you wish.

AVATARS

Avatars are display pictures that are shown right underneath your display name in any of your posts, and on your profile. An avatar can say alot about you so you may wish to access it and use it wisely. There are already pre-made avatars for you to choose from (they're hideous so don't) but you may wish to make or find one of your own. You will then need to upload it (Photobucket.com is a good one) and once you have done that, you can stick the URL of the avatar into the place where it says "I have my own avatar" Just remember to check off the little box beside it or else it won't work. The standard size is 100 x 100, however you may change it to your likings.

SIGNATURES

Signatures appear at the END of your posts, this is where you can type random lyrics, stick banners in there and whatever else you can think of. Please bear in mind that enormously huge banners will ruin the style of the board and make it difficult and unpleasant for those attempting to read the posts underneath it. That is why we have a signature limit.

UBB CODES

UBB Codes are simplified versions of HTML codes. A thorough knowledge of them may prove useful on forums.

For a full list, go HERE

Sorry, I was going to type it all out onto here but it was taking too long. I'll try to type them out here when I have the chance ok?

MODERATORS, GLOBAL MODERATORS, ADMINISTRATORS

WHAT ARE MODERATORS?

Moderators are members who have proven themselves worthy of being capable of handling a moderator position. Moderators basically moderate a board(s) and see to it that that everything is kept in place. You MUST become a moderator in order to achieve a GLOBAL MODERATOR position.

WHAT ARE GLOBAL MODERATORS?

Global Moderators are moderators with higher powers. They basically moderate the entire board and have access to more moderation panels than a moderator does.

WHAT ARE ADMINISTRATORS?

An administrator basically has access to everything, usually they are the creator of the forum. It is they (and the staff) who decide who gets a moderating position.

AFFILIATES

Affiliates are other forums on which they have linked back to mine, and vice versa.

Our affiliates are on the bottom, if you wish to visit one, simply place your mouse on the one you wish to visit and click on it. (simple, huh?)

If you would like to affiliate with us, send me a PM with your banner and url and I'll stick it up. You can easily access our affiliate code by simply clicking on our affiliate banner on the bottom, right of the scrolling affiliates. It will then automatically paste itself onto your clipboard for convienience
